We’re popping in with some exciting updates, behind-the-scenes news, and a few things we think you'll want to know as part of our growing cat-loving community. Whether you’re here for the memes, the Mochi videos, or just stumbled in looking for a better deal on cat food, we’ve got something for you.
🚨 First Things First: Tariffs, Products, and What It Means for You
Let’s talk business. You may have heard some rumblings about new tariffs on imported goods, especially from China. These Trump-era tariffs are making a comeback, and that could affect a lot of cat-related products—including the funny cat houses we design and sell.
Now, don’t worry—Capnip isn’t going anywhere. We’re still selling our signature themed cat houses like Casa Gato, Mochi’s Dim Sum Palace, and the ever-popular Catsco. Mochi, our Chief Box Inspector (and yes, the star of many of our Instagram posts), still gives each design his full paw of approval.
But in the background, we’re actively exploring other product options. Our goal is to continue offering the same fun, high-quality cat items while avoiding price hikes caused by import fees. So whether that means sourcing more USA-made goods or developing our own line of budget-friendly, domestically produced cat toys, we’re on it.
🐾 Introducing the “Cool Cats” Hall of Fame
We’re beyond excited to introduce one of our favorite new features: the Cool Cats section on our website. Think of it as Capnip’s version of a catwalk, minus the snobbery and plus a lot more fur.
This is where we showcase cats from all over—some are fans of our houses, some just have big personalities and cool whiskers. You don’t have to buy anything to be part of it. If your cat has a story, a vibe, or just looks fantastic lounging in a sunny spot, we want to feature them.
It’s our way of building community beyond just transactions. At Capnip, we’re about people (and felines), not just products.

🛒 The Price is Right: Capnip’s New Deal Finder System for Pet Products
Pet parents know the struggle—trying to find the best cat food deals without hopping between five different sites or clipping coupons like it’s 1998.
We’re fixing that.
Right now, we’re working with a team of developers to build a deal-finding engine just for cats. The goal is simple: make it easier for you to find cheap cat litter, affordable cat food, and other essentials by scanning top websites and surfacing the best prices automatically.
Some examples of what we’re solving for:
- Want to stock up on clumping litter but don’t want to overpay? We’ll show you where it’s cheapest that week.
- Buying in bulk? Great—you’ll see per-pound cost comparisons so you know you’re actually getting a deal.
- Wondering if that “Buy 2 Get 1” sale is worth it? We’ll break it down for you.
We’re starting with food and litter—because those are the two biggest costs for most cat households—but we’ll be expanding into treats, toys, and even flea meds once we get the core system dialed in.
Our hope? To save you time and money without sacrificing quality. Because let’s be honest, if we can save you $12 on litter this month, that’s $12 you can put toward spoiling your furball with a new scratching post.
🧭 Navigation Just Got an Upgrade
We’ve also heard your feedback about making it easier to find stuff on our site—especially our articles and cat product reviews. So we rolled out a new menu system that should make navigation way smoother.
